Earlier last week I came upon a post speaking on “Ego”. The post was speaking to the topic of getting rid of your ego. Something about it didn’t sit right in my spirit and I was called to look up the etymology of the word.
.
.
Defined as ๐๐พ:
แดแO (n). 1707 - in metaphysics, "the self; that which feels, acts, or thinks,"
.
.
Once I read this it further got me to thinking, why would anyone want to get rid of “their self”? The things that make you the YOแ that you are. Yes we all are perfectly imperfect and have things we may wish to work on, yet getting rid of ego is something I’ve heard more than one time. To me it sounds like a subject that should be further discussed from different angles.
Maybe not so much of getting rid of your ego as a whole yet instead healing the fractures, and breaks that have occurred over life long lessons. Could it be possible that the ego everyone wants so badly to remove is simply the defense mechanisms that were built up as layers of protection? Protection from a world so full of individuality, that has been forced to conform to social and society so called norms, thought up by the western world and forms of dictatorship.
Your ego is the parts of yourself that have held on to your individuality. The you that wishes to be free and doesn’t allow you to throw away what you wish for you. It could stand to be integrated into the other parts of your being yet totally eradicated, I think แOT! When researching ego I came across other words that could stand for some light to be shade on them. Words such as:
- Egotism
- Egomaniac
- Egomania
- Egoist
- Egoism
- Egotize
These words all speak to someone being absorbed with themselves. To the extent of obsession. Could some stand to come out of themselves a bit more, sure, yet also to a certain extent. Everyone has the right to be a bit self centered when it comes to healing, building oneself up again, along with setting and keeping boundaries. I’m sure we could think of some other things as well. However to be self absorbed to the extent that harm comes to others, whether it be physically, mentally, emotionally, or spiritually, due to your absorption then checking your ego is required.
The main outcome in my thoughts was simply that แดแO is a necessary part of everyones being. Instead of trying to pretend it isn’t or remove it, is to not be true to yourself as a whole. In our journey it is important to view and truly innerstand ourselves completely. Being able to accept the good and the challenges is what makes the lessons make sense. It inevitably makes life that much more enjoyable as well as giving you the ability to remain confident in your character.
This realm is full of learning experiences and when you have had all the erudition your soul has come here to receive, ascension is eternal. We are all spiritual beings having a human experience and the matrix does not wish to see you evolve beyond the illusion they have placed, word play being one form of weaponization. We have far too long been distracted by reducing the parts of ourselves that are needed and allowing things such as using our linguistic skills against us.
Ever heard of “be careful what you speak”?! This said by our elders and often ignored, is a warning all should heed. Get into the habit of looking up the words you are speaking, especially the ones you speak over yourself. Not all of them mean what you believe them to mean. Be as conscious of your ascension as you are of your ego! ๐
